Tata Motors partners with Oracle to improve cloud infrastructure

Automotive giant Tata Motors has announced that it is migrating its entire Dealer Management System (DMS) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). According to Tata Motors, the new partnership aims to help boost the operational efficiencies of the company. Tata Motors has claimed that migrating its system to OCI will offer the company several advantages including — better security, more flexibility, cost efficiency and in-depth business insights.

Tata Motors’ Dealer Management System: More details
Tata Motors’ Dealer Management System (DMS) serves a customer base of 60,000 users. This system supports several aspects of the company’s business including pre-sales, sales, and after-sales market across all segments of passenger and commercial vehicles.

The Dealer Management System supports both electric and conventional fuel vehicles. It is crucial for the company to manage its fleet capacity and spare parts, while also serving as a unified platform for customer feedback.

How will this partnership help Tata Motors
According to Tata Motors, the Oracle tie-up will not only help the company monitor its sales performance more effectively but will also improve collaboration across its dealer network. The company claims that it will be possible only after the modernisation of DMS. Tata Motors’ CIO, Gopinath Jayaraj said, “OCI will help us deliver on our endeavour to include more cloud-native technologies to enable better customer experiences.”
